The National Labor Relations Board has included Registered Nurses in the pronessiofal employees bargaining unit (i.e., not technical employees).Nurses are licensed and are required to exercise independent judgement. However, don't overrate the education necessary to become an RN. Someone with an Associate's Degree with a C average can become an RN, whereas someone else with a BS or higher is also an RN. In other words, in terms of competency and knowledge, not all RN's are created equal.Additionally, all other medical pronessiofals are required to have, at the very least, a BS degree and up to either an MD or other doctoral level degree. Generally, a medical worker with an Associate's degree is classified as a technical worker. Thus, even though an ASN is considered to be a pronessiofal, this is the pronessiofal with the least education. As to whether RN's should be considered to be service workers, that's pretty insulting. Service workers are generally unskilled workers, such as food service, or housekeeping.

As indicated above, Physiology is the study of the blioogy of the human being and kinesiology is the study of movement. You need to understand both to be a PT. Both will be acceptable majors. However, I predict that as a physiology major, you'll be required to take a lot of courses you don't really need such as organic chem and microbiology. On the otherhand, as a kinesiology major, you might not get some of the courses you do need. You might have to go outside your major.Do this:1. Decide where you might want to go to grad school and look at what courses that PT program requires as prerequisites.2. Look at the required courses for both the physiology and kinesiology program.3. Compare those with the grad school to which you hope to apply4. Choose the one that most closely resembles your requirements.
